FUTURE OF FASHION

In October 2018 I partnered with Emmanuelle Rienda of Le Frenchlab to put on a The Future of Fashion , a first of it's kind, one day conference that discussed pressing issues in the fashion industry such as sustainability, circularity, and cutting edge vegan alternatives. We were generously allotted 1,000 square feet at the LA Textile conference to host a series of lively panel discussions, curate an exhibit full of sustainable and vegan fashion alternatives, and sponsor a few booths that aligned with the cause.

I was responsible for the overall experiential design of the space, including the design and layout of the exhibit. The exhibit included one of my own pieces, the wastedLA Take Out Jacket. The concept for the space was to draw connections between the wide variety of topics the conference focused on. Black tape drew lines of continuity between the booths sponsored by the Future of Fashion, to each exhibit piece, all the way up to the panelist stage. I was also luck enough to get to speak as a panelist about my mission to change the way people see waste in the world. Keeping in line with my anti-waste ethics, all of the tape and wall graphics were collected at the end of the event and will be used to create innovative clothing pieces for wastedLA.

Special thanks to Po Sreng Lao, Alex Weisfeld, and Audrey Peterson for helping us set up the exhibit!
