This project began as a study of the precast concrete facade elements of the City National Bank Building; formal studies and dissections of the elements of the concrete elements. I then transformed the resultant geometry and generated a formal system which was the basis for a house addition. The Mar Vista tract by Gregory Ain was the site of the house I redeveloped. The house was reprogrammed from a single family home to a housing co-op for students; complete with a study room, shelving covering the walls, and added planter space in the back yard. Everything in the addition is built in using the systemic geometry developed from the formal studies.
